Chicken and Rice
Sauce- Melt 4 Tbl of butter in a saucepan, add sliced fresh mushrooms and saute for a few minutes. Add 1 clove of minced garlic and saute, add 5 Tbl flour and cook for one minute. Add milk until the sauce is the right consistency.
Add 1-2 cups of rice (I use either all brown rice, or half brown half white) to the bottom of the crock pot or casserole dish.
Place chicken breasts (for our family, I use 3 large ones or 4 smaller ones) on top of rice, sprinkle one package of onion soup mix over chicken, then add sauce on top. Cook on low 5-7 hours, or place in oven and bake at 350 for about an hour, or so. I always check it after an hour to see of the chicken is done, sometimes it needs more time.
