This weekend was a loooooong one! Rachel, Alayna and I headed up to Duluth Friday afternoon as Rachel had an all weekend tournament. We got to our hotel around 7 which was nice to have a few hours to settle in. Brad and Emma came up Saturday morning as they both had something going on Friday night.
We stayed at a hotel with a waterpark which was nice, I especially loved my view of Lake Superior the next morning! We also had a patio that we sat on Saturday afternoon and enjoyed the weather!
The girls had pool play Saturday until about 3:00, one of the other moms and I headed back with the younger kids so they could enjoy the waterpark before it got too crazy.
Once everyone got back, we enjoyed cocktails and snacks on our patio. We decided to go to Fitgers for supper. It was an interesting evening to say the least. We had to wait over an hour for a table (there was 21 of us!) which was fine, because they have a waiting area where you can order drinks and appetizers. We finally got seated and had the WORST service ever. Brad and I both had some words with our server, who apologized several times for his attitude. Sheesh.
Sunday we were back up at the high school to watch more volleyball. We knew it was going to be a long day because it was pool play again in the morning and then tournament play. The suckiest part of the weekend was that there was NO seating to watch vball. We were up on the walking track and you couldn't bring chairs. Our feet were sore by Monday!
We had a nice long break in between pool play and tournament play, so they 4 of us headed into Duluth (which if you don't know me, is my favorite place on earth!). We walked down to Canal Park, the weather was cloudy and maybe 45, but no wind.
We did some shopping and then stopped at Angies Cantina for some apps and beer. I'm so glad we got the chance to go down by the lake!
The girls played awesome and came in 2nd (out of 24 teams!) in Gold Division. We didn't finish until almost 7:00, then had a 3 hour drive home. Yuck.
We made it home safe and sound and exhausted! We're still trying to catch up, I'm thinking it might take all week, haha! This was the last tournament, and as much fun as this season has been, I'm glad it's over. I think we're all exhausted and can't wait to have weekends free again!
In other news, we are SUPER proud of Rachel who made the National Honor Society as a Sophomore! It's quite the accomplishment and she has worked very hard for it!
Linking up with Justine for Tuesday Talk!

Sounds like a fun weekend! Your view from the hotel room is gorgeous!
Wow! Congrats on the win and NHS! That's great! Oh, and I have to tell you- I've been using Mel's Kitchen Cafe taco seasoning and love it- and then this weekend we made her cheesecake brownies- my pants hate me! :)
