Christmas 2018

I had such good intentions of getting a couple posts done in December, and you can see that did NOT happen!  It was a busy month obviously, but in all honesty, it wasn't overly nutty which was so nice.
I see all these blog posts of Christmas bucket lists packed full of (super fun!) activities and I have just never been one to do "all" the things.  I just want to the simple cozy nights enjoying our home and that's exactly what we did!

The weekend before Christmas my mom came over and helped us make cookies.  We made cut outs and molasses.  The molasses cookies are my fave and remind me of my Grandma Omi who's cookies were the BEST and I will never be able to make them like she did.

Rachel's boyfriend Dalton joined us to, it was such a fun afternoon!

Our masterpieces!  And I'll have you know that I threw out the majority of these because NO ONE EATS THEM!  They insist on making them, but then they go moldy, haha.

We also made sure to get our annual holidays lights drive in!  We found a couple really great places that had the music with the lights.  We always play Christmas Vacation while we look at lights.

Christmas Eve morning Emma always makes breakfast.  This year she did reindeer donuts, so cute!

And she also was in charge of the elf, haha!

Christmas Eve day we go to Brad's sisters house around 2.  Everyone brings an appetizer (we always bring sweet and sour meatballs) and we just munch and play cards and open gifts, so fun!

We left there around 6:30 and headed home for our little family Christmas.  We had more appetizers and then opened some gifts.  It was a very relaxing, fun night.  We watched Home Alone and then the girls all set up shop in Rachel's room for their annual sleep over.

That's where the fun ended for me.  I was up at 2 am throwing up and was sick all day on Christmas.  I spent the day in bed miserable!  So needless to say, I got nary a photo on Christmas Day.  So sad.  Thankfully Brad and the girls were only next door at his parents so he came home to check up on me and make me eat.  I honestly didn't feel better until Friday, it was a doozy!
Despite that, it was still a wonderful holiday!
